Ninomiya fortunately manages to catch Matsumoto’s wrist. Panic by the unexpected accident, those Vice Principle men immediately get out from that place. Ninomiya however doesn’t care with that bunch of useless men and tightly grabs Matsumoto’s hand with both his hands.
“Wait, I-I’ll pull you up”
With all his might, he tried to pull the younger up. He gritted his teeth and sweats start to flow down to his chin.
“Just a bit...more.”
On the other hand, Matsumoto stares guiltily his friend’s face above. If he can use his left hand, the gamer definitely won’t become this tired.
“Nino, it is fine.”
“It wasn’t...fine.”
Again, he tries to pull Matsumoto up. But it is impossible since he was too tired already.
“You can’t hold it any longer right? Just-”
“Don’t you dare to...say it.”
The gamer angrily and tiredly glares at him.
“I won’t...let go of your hand...”
“But-”
“Just a bit more..and-.”
“NINO-!”
“I told you I’m fine!”
“You’re not! Now bring Shoko-chan out from here!”
“We will go nowhere without you!”
“No! Just go!”
Shoko-chan startled by the shouts. It was same, really same with Sakurai’s shout before. She immediately moves to Ninomiya’s side.
“We won’t let Jun ni-chan fall.”
“See?!”
Both Ninomiya and Shoko-chan use all their energy left to pull him up. However, it still didn’t work at all.
“Nino! You have no energy left to pull me up! So just let me go!”
“I won’t!”
“We can’t do anything anymore!””
The older doesn’t care with Matsumoto’s words at all.
“Ni-chan will count till three and let’s pull...Jun ni-chan... together okay?”
“Un.”
After the gamer counts till three, both of them tried to pull Matsumoto up. At first it worked, but as they slowly losses of their energy, Matsumoto almost loosen and slipped from their hold.
“Shoko-chan, listen here.”
The little girl looks at him while crying.
“Shoko-chan.”
He took something using his bleeding wounded hand from his pocket and gives it to the little girl with a small painful cried left his mouth.
“Here.”
Shoko-chan took the camera given while sniffing.
“Make sure to protect this with Kazu ni-chan ne?”
She just bits her lips quietly.
“Nino, let me go now.”
However, Ninomiya still grips his wrist tightly.
“Nino.”
Matsumoto sighs when the older still not listen on him.
“NINO-”
“I TOLD YOU I WON’T!”
Deep inside, the gamer realized that he already reached his limit. After all those happenings, there’s no way he will still has an enough amount of energy to pull Matsumoto up. But no matter what, he promised that he will never let go of his friend’s hand again. He already blamed himself for took lightly Aiba’s matter, felt guilty for let Ohno went by himself before and can’t forgave himself for left Sakurai alone due his bleeding wound. If he let go of Matsumoto’s hand, there is a possibility the younger one will die immediately though he safely get away from the place with Shoko-chan. So, no matter what happened await, he won’t.
“Just...a bit...left...”
Matsumoto guiltily stares his friend’s redden face. He knows Ninomiya only wanted him to feel better by saying it. Actually, he can feel both their hands are slipping by each second elapsed. He can see Ninomiya’s knuckle already turn to white and his face was damped with sweats.
‘No.’
The gamer closes his eyes tightly as he can feel his hand is going to release Matsumoto’s hand soon. His heartbeats were increasing and his arms muscles going to cramp anytime.
‘No! You can do it Kazunari!’
But his hands were too sloppy to hold on anymore.
‘NO!
TAP!
Someone suddenly grabs Matsumoto’s wrist beside. Ninomiya immediately looks on his right and stunned by the unexpected person he saw. They still have a friend. And he is, right beside him and struggling to pull Matsumoto to the safe side. He can feel the burden on his shoulders suddenly disappear and his mouth curves with a very wide grin.
“WHAT ARE YOU SMILING AT NINO?!! HURRY UP OR MATSUJUN WILL FALL!!!”
“Masa ni-ni!”
Ninomiya immediately focus on pulling Matsumoto up together with Aiba, but with his still smiling face.
