But after a cold incident occured between them, Kazunari chooses to never put a faith with anyone else anymore.

I just crouched down on the floor with my head leant on the wall beside. Finally, I still couldn’t admit something that I never did as I still want to live with Aiba, Ohno, my kind-hearted classmates, band and of course my related-blood too…even though they won’t accept me anymore. Plus, I also felt like I was betraying Aiba and Ohno if I chose to ‘lighter their life burden’. I know that I’m being selfish in this matter but…
I really want to live.
I still really really want to know…whether I’ve a value to stay in this world or otherwise.
“Miyamoto Kazunari-kun.”
I blinked my eyes as I realized the cell already had been unlocked open by the police officer.
“Congratulations, you’re free soul now.”
W-What?
“Come. You can come out now.”
“Eh?”
I still felt like I’m dreaming when the police officer suddenly beamed me with a smile which was something that he never did to me before. As I slowly stood on my feet and stepped out, I saw he locked the cell before led me to the way out WITHOUT cuffed me like usual. He then unlocked the door that led to the waiting place in the lobby.
"Sho?" and I saw Sho immediately turned to me from the bench he's sitting on there. Then, he immediately ran and embraced my body.
“You’re getting thinner. You didn’t eat?”
I just shook my head; still can’t believe with what just happening.
“What…happened? Why the cops suddenly freed me?”
He just smiled as he pulled himself away from me. After I’ve taken all my belongings from the counter, I followed him to step out of there.
“It’s because of Jun, Masaki-kun and Satoshi-kun. It's unfortunate of me for not entered the ‘thugs’ nest’ with Jun and your friends before or I must be already witnessed Jun’s protective side of you.”
“What do you mean?”
However, Sho didn’t manage to answer me since we have already stepped out of the main door. Even though it’s already dark outside, I still couldn’t help but crept with a smile. Finally after almost three days got locked in here, I able to inhale some fresh air again. As I turned to my side, I surprised by the scene of Jun, Aiba and Ohno were leaning on the wall beside.
“Kazunari!!!! I feel so glad you’re safe!!!”
Aiba’s sudden hug dragged me to rigid immediately. Ohno followed him to embrace me before kept repeating for my forgiveness as he thought they’re late in helping me.
“What happened to you guys?! How come you guys can get all these injured and wounds?!”
My cheerful friend however just giggled while releasing my body. Ohno followed him too before turning to Jun behind.
“We’re actually might have far worse than these if not because of Jun-kun.”
“Yep! You guys are real twins cause both are strong and cool!”
“I'm not.”
“Yes you are.”
Jun let out a whimper when Sho purposely nudged him on stomach. I widened my eyes by those bruises and spots of blood on Jun’s shirt and face before turning to the two guys in front me. Their appearance looked almost same like Jun but with dried blood on the edge of their lips.
“Seriously, what happened? Why the cops freed me?”
“I was waiting for them outside the thugs’ nest back then. But when I suddenly heard a lot of screams and whines from inside, I immediately called for the police cause I thought those guys were doing something on them. After that I thought I should do something, so I immediately got inside the store. That’s when I realized the three of them were the one who actually managed to force those thugs till their dead end. If they weren’t admitted that they’re the one who accused you at the police, I think these three must be already killed those thugs.”
And Sho glanced at them with a smile.
“But actually we couldn’t do anything much, right? It's all Jun.”
Ohno just nodded.
“That’s not true.”
“Wait. Wait a minute.” And all eyes turned to me immediately. “Who wanted to do that to me actually?”
Jun just let out a snort before approaching and stood in front of me.
“You got a scar because of them.”
“Scar? What-” But I abruptly stopped as I get it.
Those scums?
Jun suddenly moved his hand to my bang and moved it aside. Then, I saw his eyes went wide; perhaps shocked by the one and half centimeter scar on my forehead. As he slowly pulled his hand off, I saw his mouth moved like saying something but I couldn’t hear what it was.
“Miyamoto Kazunari-kun?”
All of us immediately turned to the doorstep and saw a guy with black coat standing there with a smile.
I still remembered this man. I saw he stared me when the f*ckin’ d*mn cops dragged me along with them days ago.
“My wife is indeed right. You’re innocent.”
He gave me a relief smile that made me immediately wrinkling my forehead.
“She was your teacher, but she quit when we got married two years ago. She always tells me about you, you know.”
I was speechless.
“You’re Takeuchi-sensei…husband?”
He nodded that made me widened my eyes immediately.
What a small world!
“Who’s Takeuchi-sensei?”
“Ah, you haven’t entered the school yet when she quit. She was one of our school’s teachers back then.”
Jun, Aiba and Ohno nodded immediately.
“Alright. Since it is already late now, I will drive Miyamoto-kun and his brother home. Besides, I think it’s better for me to explain about what happened so your parents won’t be too shocked.”
“But how about my friends?”
“My friend will send them home. No need to worry.”
“But my home in Chiba. And Satoshi is staying at my place.”
“You guys can stay at my house. It’s too late for you guys to head back after all.”
“Really?” and he received a nod from Sho.
Phew. That’s great. I don’t know what I can do for them since I’m also having a problem with my parents now!
“Let’s us move now. It’s getting late.”
Both Aiba and Ohno immediately hugged me before crying out painfully as they forgot about the wounds on their body. I just laughed by their clumsy action before muttering how grateful I am for having them as my friends. Then, I turned to Sho to say my gratitude before bowing down which made the latter clumsily stopped me.
“Good night, guys.”
Jun said as the five of us walked to the two different paths. After both Jun and I got into the car, Takeuchi-sensei’s husband immediately started the engine and drove out from there. It was completely silent as none of us say any word. With a small sigh, I then stared outside of the window.
It is finally calm and quiet.
Yeah. Very quiet…

I took a peek at Kazu and couldn’t help but smile when he already snored quietly on his seat. He must be feeling so tired after what happened since the entire two days ago.
“Kazunari! Where do you want to go?!”
Both of us startled when dad suddenly shouted from the stairs. Then, I saw Kazu immediately turned to me beside him while biting his lower lip. Heavy-heartedly, I saw him move to the already awaiting dad on the stairs.
We’re both 5 years old during that time. At that time, I was always feeling so sorry for Kazu since dad was being so strict toward him as he kept saying that Kazu will be the next president of dad’s company. Kazu was actually just two minutes older than me, but that’s why he’s the one who supposed to be the heir instead of me. But, anyhow I didn’t mind it though. Cause for me, what is important is Kazu’s happiness.
One day, I was about to go and played outside. Just when I almost climbed down all the stairs, I overheard dad and Kazu’s private tutor’s conversation in the living room.
“I can’t teach your eldest son anymore. He’s too slow.”
“He just needs time, Sensei. Besides, that’s the reason why I paid you to be his private tutor right? To teach him till he masters it.”
I heard the teacher sighed.
“I know Miyamoto-san, but you must realize it too. Everyone has their own uniqueness and weakness sides. That’s why I think that Kazunari-kun shouldn’t be forced like this. Besides, he’s still small. He deserves a life like other kids too.”
The conversation kept getting further and further till finally, dad gave up and the teacher took his leave without coming back again. However, due to dad’s egoistic side as the head of the house, dad just continuously looked for other new tutors for Kazu. Sometimes, I accidentally saw the teachers gave Kazu a pinch or cursed whenever Kazu couldn’t get what they’re teaching about. Of course I really wanted to help him every time, but I also didn’t know how. But finally, I can’t take my sadness anymore when I saw Kazu received a slap on his face once by his ill-tempered private tutor in front of my eyes.
That night, I suddenly woke up as I felt my throat unusually dried. Immediately, I climbed down the stairs and moved into the kitchen; trying to look for something to drink. After coming out from there, I was ready to get back into my bedroom and climbed up the stairs but stopped by the hummed sound that I heard from the back yard.
At first, I felt scared to find out what it was. But because of my curiousness, I slowly tiptoed and took a peek from the open sliding glass door that led to the yard.
“Kazu?”
Kazu immediately turned to me before bring his puffy eyes away. Surprised by his state, I swiftly made my move toward him.
“Are you okay?”
I saw Kazu forcefully smiled at me. His cheek looked a bit red, probably because of this morning slapped.
“I’m fine.”
I gritted my teeth.
No. You’re not.
“Listen here, Kazu.” I said as I immediately made my move to stand face to face with him.
“I promise that just a bit more and you’ll get your freedom in deciding your own future. I’ve made an agreement with dad this morning.”
“Agreement?”
He frowned when I nodded.
“I told dad that I’m going to have the tutor together with you. And if I managed to get a full mark for every lesson, dad can’t force you to sit the tutor anymore. I will take all of it by myself.”
“No, you can’t! I still can bear with it! Don’t worry!”
“You’re forcing yourself. Besides, I always saw you were watching me and our friends from the window. You want to play along, don’t you?”
Kazu just bit his lower lip before finally nodding.
“I will through it with you after this. Dad even said that if I manage to get any exchange student program because of my good grades when we’re old enough one day, dad will name me as the next leader. That means you can choose your life way freely after that."
However, Kazu’s forehead just got more wrinkles.
“…E-exchang-estudents …program? What’s that?”
I replied him with a shrug that made him laugh.
“You said it full of confidence even though you’re also didn’t know what it is!”
I pouted. Kazu meanwhile just chuckled before patted my head.
“Thank you, Jun.”
I smiled. Because of that promise, I finally find out about my superiority in study field and became what I am now. It's actually took about a couple of months for me to get full marks on every lessons after the agreement before I managed to force dad on fulfilling his promise in the end. But even though Kazu finally got his freedom, he’s still stubbornly wanted to have the lesson together with me instead of playing with our friends outside. I still remember his face when he said that he didn’t have heart to let me study all by myself alone.
“Which one is your home?”
I startled by the police officer’s question. Kazu meanwhile immediately woke up and rubbed his tired eyes.
“The yellow one.” I said before I gave him a more specific direction to park his car.
A few minutes later, he finally stopped and told us to walk first. With he followed us from behind, both Kazu and I just silently walk side by side till we finally reached the door and opened it.
“I’m home.”
And I heard footsteps sound immediately came to us.
“Jun, why-” mom however stunned. Then, we saw dad came from the upstairs before his steps gradually became slower and stop.
“Kazunari?”
Kazu didn’t give any reaction at all and just took off his shoes. Calmly, he made his step to the stairs without looking at mom and dad.
“What happen to you, Jun?! How do you get all these bruises and wounds?!”
“Mom, actually I-” But a pat on my shoulder stopped me immediately.
“I’ll take care of this. You just clean up yourself and go get some sleep, okay?”
I saw the police officer smiled at me behind. With a nod, I bid him my thank you and followed Kazu to climb up to the upstairs. I can hear that mom and dad still demanding me to give them an explanation, but fortunately the police officer able to control the situation by offering himself to tell what happened instead. As I finally finished climbing up all the stairs, I saw Kazu already reached for his room doorknob.
“Kazu, are you okay?”
But he didn’t answer or even looked at me.
Well…perhaps, he’s still tired right?
With pang of despair, I just bit my lower lip and walked pass his back; ready to head into my own room.
“Jun.”
Eh?
My heartbeat felt like suddenly stops. I immediately turned to him and saw he’s smiling at me.
“Thank you.”
And he pushed the door before got inside his room. For a while, I couldn’t react at all.
I-Is that…real? Was he just called…my name?
But as I heard the sound of the door close, I finally couldn’t help but curved with a huge smile.

“Are you sure you don’t want to stay here for a bit longer, Kazu?”
I just shook my head.
“After all…I'm not belong to this place.”
Mom’s eyes brimmed with tears. As I feel like I can’t stay in front of the place that full with my past memories anymore, I immediately bowed at mom and dad.
“Take care of yourself.”
Immediately, I stepped away from the house and walked along the winding road. Even though I’m getting far and far from there, I didn’t bother to turn around at all cause somehow…I feel so hurt just by looking at mom and dad’s faces.
After I finally arrived at the train station and paid for my ticket’s fee, I headed to the platform immediately. I was so fortunate since it didn’t take so much time for the next train to come and fetch me with the other passengers there. As the door opened right in front of me, I immediately stepped inside and started to look for a seat. This morning, I called Aiba and Ohno and find out that they already took their first train since they thought that I wanted to spend my time more with my family. So now, I’ve no choice but to go back to Chiba by myself.
“Kazu!”
I turned to outside and saw Jun was running toward me with all his might.
For a while, I stayed still in my confused state; wondering why he’s doing here. But when he finally stood right on the other side of the train’s door, I immediately stepped closer while he trying to catch up back all his losing breath before.
“I’m sorry.”
And he all of sudden bowed at me.
“Eh?”
“I’m so sorry for backing off and didn’t admit you as my brother before. I’m really sorry.”
…I see.
As he finally straightened up again, I saw he’s looking at me with his apologetic eyes.
“I know that I shouldn’t do that and I feel so guilty…even until this second. You can do anything to me, Kazu.”
Tsked.
I immediately lifted my hand and quickly moved my fist toward him. Jun looked shocked by my sudden action, but stayed still before closing his eyes; showing that he’s going to accept with anything that I’ll do with him.
I smirked.
Then when my hand just a few centimeters from his forehead, I immediately slowed down and just lightly punched him with my knuckle.
“Eh?”
I chuckled when he immediately opened his eyes.
“Took you two years to say it, silly.”
“E-Eh?”
And for a while, none of us say anything. Perhaps he noticed my face was plastered with a smile, so he immediately let out a relief sigh.
“I’m so glad.”
“For what?”
“Finally…you forgive me.”
However, I just snorted.
“I never forgive you.”
“Eh? But…I thought-”
“You didn’t do anything wrong at all to seek for my forgiveness.”
Jun stared me with his disbelieve eyes
Suddenly, the door beeping; signaling that it was ready to shut off. I immediately took a bit step inside before returning Jun’s cheerful smile from the other side.
“I will come to pay a visit with Sho later soon.”
“Sure. I’ll ask aunty to give you discount.”
He laughed, followed by me. As the door slowly shut between us, both Jun and I just exchanged our gaze with a smile.

I startled by the police officer’s question. Kazu meanwhile immediately woke up and rubbed his tired eyes.
“The yellow one.” I said before I gave him a more specific direction to park his car.
A few minutes later, he finally stopped and told us to walk first. With he followed us from behind, both Kazu and I just silently walk side by side till we finally reached the door and opened it.
“I’m home.”
And I heard footsteps sound immediately came to us.
“Jun, why-” mom however stunned. Then, we saw dad came from the upstairs before his steps gradually became slower and stop.
“Kazunari?”
Kazu didn’t give any reaction at all and just took off his shoes. Calmly, he made his step to the stairs without looking at mom and dad.
“What happen to you, Jun?! How do you get all these bruises and wounds?!”
“Mom, actually I-” But a pat on my shoulder stopped me immediately.
“I’ll take care of this. You just clean up yourself and go get some sleep, okay?”
I saw the police officer smiled at me behind. With a nod, I bid him my thank you and followed Kazu to climb up to the upstairs. I can hear that mom and dad still demanding me to give them an explanation, but fortunately the police officer able to control the situation by offering himself to tell what happened instead. As I finally finished climbing up all the stairs, I saw Kazu already reached for his room doorknob.
“Kazu, are you okay?”
But he didn’t answer or even looked at me.
Well…perhaps, he’s still tired right?
With pang of despair, I just bit my lower lip and walked pass his back; ready to head into my own room.
“Jun.”
Eh?
My heartbeat felt like suddenly stops. I immediately turned to him and saw he’s smiling at me.
“Thank you.”
And he pushed the door before got inside his room. For a while, I couldn’t react at all.
I-Is that…real? Was he just called…my name?
But as I heard the sound of the door close, I finally couldn’t help but curved with a huge smile.

“Are you sure you don’t want to stay here for a bit longer, Kazu?”
I just shook my head.
“After all…I'm not belong to this place.”
Mom’s eyes brimmed with tears. As I feel like I can’t stay in front of the place that full with my past memories anymore, I immediately bowed at mom and dad.
“Take care of yourself.”
Immediately, I stepped away from the house and walked along the winding road. Even though I’m getting far and far from there, I didn’t bother to turn around at all cause somehow…I feel so hurt just by looking at mom and dad’s faces.
After I finally arrived at the train station and paid for my ticket’s fee, I headed to the platform immediately. I was so fortunate since it didn’t take so much time for the next train to come and fetch me with the other passengers there. As the door opened right in front of me, I immediately stepped inside and started to look for a seat. This morning, I called Aiba and Ohno and find out that they already took their first train since they thought that I wanted to spend my time more with my family. So now, I’ve no choice but to go back to Chiba by myself.
“Kazu!”
I turned to outside and saw Jun was running toward me with all his might.
For a while, I stayed still in my confused state; wondering why he’s doing here. But when he finally stood right on the other side of the train’s door, I immediately stepped closer while he trying to catch up back all his losing breath before.
“I’m sorry.”
And he all of sudden bowed at me.
“Eh?”
“I’m so sorry for backing off and didn’t admit you as my brother before. I’m really sorry.”
…I see.
As he finally straightened up again, I saw he’s looking at me with his apologetic eyes.
“I know that I shouldn’t do that and I feel so guilty…even until this second. You can do anything to me, Kazu.”
Tsked.
I immediately lifted my hand and quickly moved my fist toward him. Jun looked shocked by my sudden action, but stayed still before closing his eyes; showing that he’s going to accept with anything that I’ll do with him.
I smirked.
Then when my hand just a few centimeters from his forehead, I immediately slowed down and just lightly punched him with my knuckle.
“Eh?”
I chuckled when he immediately opened his eyes.
“Took you two years to say it, silly.”
“E-Eh?”
And for a while, none of us say anything. Perhaps he noticed my face was plastered with a smile, so he immediately let out a relief sigh.
“I’m so glad.”
“For what?”
“Finally…you forgive me.”
However, I just snorted.
“I never forgive you.”
“Eh? But…I thought-”
“You didn’t do anything wrong at all to seek for my forgiveness.”
Jun stared me with his disbelieve eyes
Suddenly, the door beeping; signaling that it was ready to shut off. I immediately took a bit step inside before returning Jun’s cheerful smile from the other side.
“I will come to pay a visit with Sho later soon.”
“Sure. I’ll ask aunty to give you discount.”
He laughed, followed by me. As the door slowly shut between us, both Jun and I just exchanged our gaze with a smile.
