Disclaimer: I just wrote the plot.
Summary: What you're going to do when you received a message from Shinigami that said you're joining their game? 25 people including Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari and Matsumoto Jun try their best to survive the game for the rest three days or they will lost their lives in the most fatal accident they ever thought. Will they manage to? And why Ohno Satoshi who has nothing to do with it tries to rescue every victims that he found?
Warnings: This story full with blood, murderer and plot that might be unsuitable for you who hate this kind of stuff. For you who ever read my fics before, THIS STORY is different from what I ever wrote.
Immediately, the three guys slammed open their door at a same time. With Sho on the left side and Aiba on the other one, the attacker immediately stood up and clenched the sword in his hold. However, he suddenly froze when his eyes landed on Ohno. Without wasting his time, he immediately jumps from the car roof and swiftly runs to Ohno while highly hold his blade in air.
“Sakurai-san! Bring Aiba-san away from me!”
Clumsily, Sho runs toward Aiba and drags the guy with him. Both guys then just watch their saviour fight between his life and death situation.
“Why he try to kill Ohno-san and not us?”
He softly spokes even though he himself couldn’t hear it. Sho however just shook his head.
ZAP!
Ohno clumsily dodges the swinging blade right above him. Out of his aware, the attacker takes it as his chance and pushes Ohno to fall on the sloppy ground behind with his above him. Unfortunately for Ohno, the heavy rain gives him a hard vision to see clearly where the blade is aiming to. Only few inches before the sharp thing slashes his neck, the guy finally succeed to stop it with one of his hands resisting the blade holder and the sharp side for the other one. Ohno’s blood starts to drip on the ground, but none of them seem to care about it.
“Hey, you! Ohno-san is in danger now! Hurry up and save him!”
Sho’s loud shout however lost under the sound of falling rain. If they have a choice, he and Aiba will definitely come to help the armless guy. From a far meanwhile, the guardian just crosses his arm without any intention to do anything. He just watches the ‘drama’ quietly and waits to see whether Ohno is going to do something or called for him after their tense conversation before.
“Urgh…”
Gradually, pang of painfulness spread on his palm as his blood mix with the rain. The attacker on the other hand purposely uses his body weight to push the blade lower and lower to Ohno’s neck.
“…Sensei.”
Ohno feels the attacker suddenly stops.
“Why you tried to kill Sakurai-san before?”
The attacker didn’t move for a while. However, as he finally realizes that it useless to hide his identity anymore, he harshly opens the mask that covers his face and returns the Ohno’s serious gaze under him.
“I realize that you really hate me after you found out that I survived. But seriously, I never thought you’ll go until this far.”
Veins clearly show up on Ohno’s hand when the person that he just met at the hospital few hours ago all of sudden continue to pushes his blade closer to his neck.
“Actually, I never thought that I’m going to kill you right here tonight. I just didn’t want those receivers to survive this game just like my wife 5 years ago.”
“…W-Why?”
“They shouldn’t alive if my wife didn’t. And I believe anyone who through the same experience like me will definitely agree with what I’m doing now. That’s what we call as fair, doesn’t it?”
“It doesn’t fair! Everyone is trying their best to save their life!”
“It’s the same thing for my wife too! So, no one is going to survive this!”
The doctor heavily breathes as he finally let all his anger out. Since the first time he found out that Ohno was survived the sadist game years ago, he couldn’t help but feel jealous as his beloved wife didn’t succeed to win against her ‘fate’. Besides, for him Ohno is has no right to live as the guy already has no one in this world. Perhaps, he can accept it if the survivor is someone who was well-love or useful for anyone, but for an orphan like Ohno to win it was really unfair for him.
“I never thought I will survive.”
Ohno said it while swallows hardly his sorrow. The doctor however just snigger.
“I lost everyone I love because of this stupid game and I never stop from thinking to suicide.”
“THEN DIE!”
“I’d try to! But they didn’t let it!”
The doctor frowns.
“Who?”
Ohno just bitterly laughs.
“…Do you think after win this I’d continue with my life normally?”
Somehow, he feels like his breath is stuck in his throat. The pressure after survive the game is actually painful and he has no idea how he could hide it after years.
“You’ll never understand it because you never involved with this alive or death game. Actually the life of the Shinigami’s victims wasn’t ended when he or she already dead, but already ended when they got the message. But after found Sakurai-san and Aiba-san few hours ago, I’ve no doubt to move on anymore.”
“What do you mean?”
Ohno returns the man’s glare determinedly.
“I’ll never let them lost hope like I did before and that’s why I’m going to do anything just to make sure they will survive.”
“Saving someone who has nothing to do with you…you must be already out of your mind.”
Witnessing it, Sho becomes more confused than he should before. Aiba beside him meanwhile already pleading him to tell what the two struggling men are talking about, but he himself didn’t sure what is going on.
“It’s getting complicated, huh?”
Both humans immediately turn to look at the guardian behind them.
“H-How come…I can hear you?”
The cool guy just smirks.
“Anyway, just go and help him now!”
“He’ll refuse to.”
“But he’s in dangerous now!”
“I just follow his order.”
“But you said you’ve responsibility to-!”
“Well, I don’t see it has anything to do with you.”
Sho furiously bites his lower lip. Step by step, Lord Yamashita comes to approach them before stops right between the two humans.
“If you think that everything is ended after you won this game, think about it again. Not everyone can accept the fact that their beloved one gone because of this game especially the family of the losers.”
“What do you mean?”
“The winner will not only need to face their trauma because of this game for the rest of their lives, but also receives lot of justified, dissatisfied, jealousy and not forget tons of people who might hold grudge against them. And the grudge sometimes went too far that could lead to murder.”
“But Ohno-san?”
“The Shinigami will change to be a guardian of the person that they attempt to kill if they fail to kill their suppose-to-be-apprentice in three days. And their job is to protect that person from anything that might put him or her in danger, as long as the cause of the attack, attempt murder or suicide is this game.”
Sho and Aiba lost of words. For Sho, somehow he finally understood what Ohno’s mean with their life wasn’t ended if they died, but already ended when they received the message. No matter they survive the game or not, they will never get their previous life back.
“This is…unfair for us.”
Sho furiously clenches his hand. The guardian on the other hand just quietly watches him before looks away with a smirk. All of sudden, the loud heavy rain sound breaks by Ohno loud painful moan which make the three guys before turn to look at him immediately. Seems he already on his limit as the sharp side of the blade gradually cuts his left palm deeper and deeper that makes the rain puddles beside him change to red. Knowing that he has no choice anymore, Ohno tightly closes his eyes for regain all his might back before takes a very deep breath.
“I’m sorry.”
“For what? It’s too late!”
Ohno suddenly opens his eyes again. Harshly, he grabs for the doctor’s neck with his left hand still holding on the blade sharp side for keep the safe gap between it and his neck. Sighting it, his guardian couldn’t help but surprises.
“So, he finally uses it.”
“What?”
Meanwhile, Ohno just tightens his grabs. He could feels his hand is trembling as he never think to use ‘it’, what more to kill someone with ‘it’. He completely half-hearted to kill the man above him now as he already receives lot of help from that man.
“It’s too late if you think you can strangle me. You’ve no strength anymore.”
Ohno however didn’t response with it.
“And I’ll make sure no one is going to survive after you.”
Sho and Aiba face change when they saw the doctor smirks evilly. Didn’t care with their own safety anymore, they rush to help Ohno before abruptly stop when they see the fire mark on Ohno’s wrist suddenly spreads to Ohno’s fingers and finally the doctor’s face and all parts of body. The sight gives a big shock for them and obviously for the doctor himself.
“I don’t want to do this but…”
Hardly, Ohno gritted his teeth.
“BURN”
The black marks all of sudden change to blaze and burn every parts of the man’s body. Thick smoke appears as the huge blaze burn up the body while fighting over the heavy rain from the sky. Ohno couldn’t help but closes tightly his eyes and turn to face the other side when the body in front suddenly screams painfully by the hotness. Pang of guilty slap his feelings even though he realizes that he has no choice but to do it. Meanwhile, Sho and Aiba just stood still; extremely shocked with what they are witnessing at. For a while, no one move or says anything even until the blaze and body disappear from their sight.
“…Became the only survivor for this game until now, you must be already on your limit right, Ohno-sama?”
The guardian just crosses his arms when Ohno finally slowly sits up. Still sitting on the drench ground, Ohno just quietly spaces out. Tightly, he then clench his hand into a fist before closes his eyes; full with despair and regrets.
He just ‘killed’ someone…again.
“HURRY UP!”
Arrogantly, the robber aims his gun to the lining up customers. Each of them needs to put their wallet, phone and jewels inside the economy bag in Nino’s hold or they might lose their life right there.
“Oi, Oba-san! Faster!”
The old woman who stands in front Nino now tremblingly took her red wallet from her old handbag. As she wants to puts it inside the bag, a white envelope accidently slips out along with her hand. Clumsily, she tries to pick it up, but the robber moves faster. Curious with it, he immediately takes a look inside and widens his eyes in surprise.
“You’re really something, huh Oba-san? Don’t be so stingy! Share it with me!”
He laughs happily as he took the thick ten thousand yen notes out.
“P-Please, Sir. It’s for my son’s surgery payment.”
The robber however just chuckles and shoves the money into the economy bag.
“You just need to look for a new one, right?”
“You went too far.”
All eyes immediately eyed at the tall salary man. Determinedly, the man walks out from his line before stands beside the already teary old lady.
“You took already much than enough from us. Just give the money back to her.”
BANG!
A bullet hits accurately the man’s head. As the body immediately falls on the floor motionlessly, the situation inside the store change to chaos and out of control when everyone tries to avoid from stay closer with the cold body. Everyone include Nino and Jun was completely shocked with the murderer that just happens in front of their eyes. Surprise by it, the old lady before almost passes out, but Nino fortunately able to reach and brings her away from the already bloody floor.
“I hate hero.”
Immediately, he randomly brings his gun up again which makes the customers tremblingly screams out again.
“Anyone of you dare to come against me like this idiot again? Hurry up and I’ll delightedly blow up your brain.”
He grins widely when no one dare to move. However, it didn’t last long.
“You just tried to kill me with your bastard friends and now you killed someone again. Should I wish ‘congratulations’?”
Jun suddenly approaches him which makes Nino widens his eyes in disbelieve. The robber meanwhile completely loss of words when the guy that his gang leader just killed this morning is now standing in front of him.
“You suppose to be dead already!”
He worriedly steps aback; try to make a gap between him and Jun. However, Jun didn’t answer it but swallows hardly as he feels extremely hesitant with the act he is taking now. He actually didn’t want to expose himself after he found out that robber was his buddy when he was still with his former gang. The unexpected murderer however led him finally to no choice.
“You should make sure the body you left in the tunnel back then still breathing or not.”
Tense surround them for a while. Nino meanwhile just quietly watches the two guys while try to reassure the old lady. Seriously, he didn’t agree with Jun’s decision for stepping out and see the dangerous man face to face like that. After all, anytime everything can suddenly turn upside down since the robber has a gun and might kill anyone again.
“Murder people like that; you really have no way to run anymore.”
The robber just chuckles.
“Huh? I thought you also ever did the same before right, PARENTS-KILLER?”
A wide grin plasters on his mouth when he saw Jun’s face change by it. Suddenly, he claps his hands loudly; trying to get all the attention there.
“Listen here everybody! This guy killed his own parents when he’s still underage and he didn’t receive any punishment for that sin at all!”
Hearing it, Jun hands begin to tremble.
“8 stabs for his dad and 7 for his mom! Wasn’t he crueller than me?!”
Nino starts to feel worried when Jun’s face somehow looks pale for him. Before he couldn’t do anything however Jun suddenly reaches for his bandaged head with his already shivering fingers.
“Stop it.”
‘Something is wrong.’
He could sense it. Somehow, Jun’s voice sound really weak like he can loses his conscious anytime.
“A SADIST KILLER LIKE YOU SHOULD JUST DISAPPEAR FROM THIS WORLD!”
Sound of severe non-stopping coughs suddenly comes from Jun’s mouth. As his vision suddenly turns to blur, his cramp body falls hardly on the convenient store’s floor. Sighting it, Nino almost rushes to help him but stops when the robber suddenly aims his gun to him.
“No hero’s act, one-eye monster.”
He laughs when Nino furiously returns his stare. Then, the robber turns to look at his other robber victims there.
“Since I’ve shoot two, shall we continue this bloody party?”
Every single people faces there change by the statements. Just when they thought the criminal will let them free if they follow all his order, they finally realize how wrong they are. Weakly, Jun took his phone out and pushes few buttons which makes his ex-buddy laugh amusingly by it.
“Don’t worry, Jun. I’ll go and take care of your sister after this. Just REST IN PEACE.”
He smirks smugly. However, his face dramatically changes when the injured guy suddenly burst with laugh from the cold floor. Nino who just watches silently from aside since minutes ago also surprises by Jun’s sudden change.
“What? Are you out of your mind already?”
“Wrong. You’re the one who actually out of your mind.”
Nino frowns by the words. The burglar meanwhile feels his pride like been stomp by every single laugh that comes out from Jun’s mouth. Harshly, he tries to kick the guy’s head but stops when all the customers inside the store scream terrifyingly like seeing something creepy behind him. Feel curious, he immediately turns around and widens his eyes in shocked by the scene of a bus which is now only few metres from the glass automatic door behind him. As he turns to look his front again, everyone was already crouches down as far as they can from the door with their hands covering their heads.
“Rest in peace.”
Jun weakly smirks with Nino quickly help him to move away from lay on the floor. Hurriedly, the robber also runs to save his life, but everything was already too late.
CLASH!
A very loud impact occur when the huge bus hits hardly the glass door; breaking it into countless sharp pieces. Endlessly scream followed by a loud break and crash sound suddenly break the silence night which can makes anyone who heard it shiver terrifyingly by it. Everything was dusty and blur until couple of minutes passed.
TAP TAP
Sound of something dripping suddenly noises the silence damaged store. However, no one dare to move or even say anything as they still shocked with what just happened in front of their eyes. Some women start to cry when they saw only the robber’s hand show from under the half-destroyed bus. Everything was completely silence until Nino notices the dripping sound was come from the petrol of the bus fuel tank.
“GET OUT FROM HERE NOW!”
Everyone turn to look at him immediately.
“THE BUS IS GOING TO EXPLODE! GET OUT NOW!”
Hearing it, all the victims run from the already breaking store side window; attempt to save their life. Gradually, petrol starts to dirty the floor as it mix with the robber’s blood. Nino tries to help Jun to get out from the place by reaches for the guy’s arm, but immediately got slapped by the hand’s owner.
“…Just let me die here.”
Nino widens his eyes in disbelieve.
“Are you idiot?! We’ve face a lot of thing just for saving our life!”
Jun however just bitterly laughs.
“You know what? I was actually the one who called for this bus to come.”
“What?”
Weakly, he passes his phone to the one eye guy. Nino on the other hand couldn’t help but surprise by the words on the screen.

“Y-You-?”
“Yeah. I just replied the message and seem he sent a bus to ‘save’ us here.”
“But why?!”
With a small whine, Jun tries to fix his position for a better one as he lies on the wall behind him.
“Anyone who comes closer to us might lose their life, don’t they? Maybe more lives will lose if we let that scum alive.”
Nino silences by his words. Later then, he reaches for the guy’s arms again before got slapped away for the second time.
“Just leave me here. Go and save yourself.”
“Listen here. It’s not a right time for you to give up now. You don’t want to let your sister alone, don’t you?”
Tightly, Jun closes his eyes before touches for the bandaged around his head. He took a deep breath before looks up on Nino above him with his teary eyes.
“I’ll only burden her.”
“It’s not a right time to think-”
All of sudden, litres of petrol oozing out and gradually come to reach their place.
“Hurry up!”
“I said; you can leave! I-urgh!”
Jun feels like his head could explode in no time. With the scent of petrol already fulfil the place, his eyes slowly turn to blur that makes his breath dramatically decrease. Nino who was already notices it, immediately kneels down to drag him away before it’s too late. However, the petrol finally reaches their place before in contact with sparkles of fire from the light above. Soon, a loud sound of explosion can be heard by huge amount of the metropolitan city residences all around.
