Disclaimer: I just wrote the plot.
Summary: What you're going to do when you received a message from Shinigami that said you're joining their game? 25 people including Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari and Matsumoto Jun try their best to survive the game for the rest three days or they will lost their lives in the most fatal accident they ever thought. Will they manage to? And why Ohno Satoshi who has nothing to do with it tries to rescue every victims that he found?
Warnings: This story full with blood, murderer and plot that might be unsuitable for you who hate this kind of stuff. For you who ever read my fics before, THIS STORY is different from what I ever wrote.
The whole city is now as quiet as cemetery as there are no other livings things can be seen in the row of buildings on the roadside. The cloudy sky makes it gloomier with rain maybe will wet the earth in no time. Even the road that Sho is walking on is empty with few cars stay motionless almost along his way. Sometimes siren sound from afar breaks the creepy silence but none of it seems to come to path that Sho is walking on. Slowly, Sho turn his head around; only seeing a winding road is left behind with the car that he used to save the old man before nowhere to be seen anymore. Somehow, he finally realizes how naïve he is for thought everything will settle just if he recklessly drove away from there. And now he is completely lost in how to find for Ohno and Aiba; knowing that there’s no way the two guys will still stay there anymore after the 6 in row explosions while ago.
‘I’ll die in no time if keep moving alone like this…’
He stressfully rubs the back of his neck. As he shifts his gaze back to the front, he notices a thick black smoke is highly come up to sky several metres from his place. Curious by it, he almost moves to approach the burning spot before a loud explosion came to his ears, followed by a sight of burning car suddenly fly up to the sky.
BAM!
The loud impact of the falling car jerks him. Sho however didn’t have anytime for think about his next step when he saw a figure of someone is walking out from the thick smoke.
‘...Was it Shinigami?’
Know it will be dangerous if he keeps staying there; he slowly moves aback and tries to leave the place. However, the face that finally shows up from the smoke stops him immediately.
“Ohno-san?”
Feeling of relief thumps inside him. He was about to approach the other guy when he notices that Aiba is nowhere to be found and how expressionless the Ohno’s face when meet his eyes. Sense there’s something wrong with Ohno’s sudden appearance, Sho’s breath start to be inconstant.
‘Should I leave? Or-‘
He frowns when Ohno reaches out his right hand to the car beside. As soon as the guy’s palm touches it, the black mark from his wrist swiftly spread to the whole of the vehicle and burn it without hesitant. Immediately, the area echo with a very loud explosion sound when the car burns highly in air. Sho who is sighting it, widen his eyes in shock. Cold sweat slowly flows down to his cheek. For every step Ohno took toward him, another car will blow up; sending Sho shiver in horror. There’s no doubt the guy in front him is not the Ohno he knows anymore.
We haven’t introduced ourselves to each other yet right?
Sho clumsily turns around.
“Who…are you?”
The guy just smiles.
I’m your Shinigami and you’re my replacer
A loud thump hit Sho’s chest. Perhaps because of too fear, he couldn’t react with the Shinigami’s words at all. Only when he heard footsteps sound stop right behind him, he finally manages to spin around.
“Ohno-san?”
No response.
“Ohno-san, why did you do that?”
The other one just blankly stares him.
“Where’s Aiba-san?”
Still no answer. The silence gradually makes Sho feel uneasy.
You should worry about yourself than anyone else now, idiot
Just when he was about to brings his gaze to the Shinigami, Ohno’s hand all of sudden harshly reaches for his neck. The grabs suddenly turn to a powerful strangler; closely makes him faint because of the painfulness. Attempt to save his life, Sho immediately grab the guy’s wrist with his both hands. However, no matter how hard he try to make the other one let go of him, it wasn’t working at all and just make him cough more out of breath.
Burn him
The two words make Sho panic. He can feels Ohno is tightening his grip; signalling that he’s going to grill him until the bones. In a blink of eyes, the fire mark swiftly spread from Ohno’s wrist to fingers. Just when it almost reaches Sho’s pale skin, a load of mall trolley suddenly hit hardly the burner’s body and makes him inadvertent releases his victim’s neck. Already lost all his might, Sho was about to fall on his knees, but pair of hands suddenly catches him and quickly drags him from there.
“Right on time.”
He said as they finally stood on the roadside; leaving only Ohno and the spectacles Shinigami on the road. Still panting, Sho immediately looks at the voice owner beside him.
“Who-are you?”
“I think you know him.”
Nino points at the other roadside in front them; showing Sho the other two guys there beside of them.
“Aiba-san?”
From his position, he can see clearly Aiba worriedly returns his stare. There’s also a guy with a bandaged head beside him, but he has no idea who was that person is.
This will soon piss me off. But well, still interesting
The Shinigami cynically said it right behind them .Both Sho and Nino immediately turn around; completely shocked with Shinigami sudden show up.
“How come…?”
“RUN AWAY FROM THERE!”
Aiba’s shout snap the two guys. For a while, they didn’t get with why the deaf guy looks so freak out until Sho realizes that Ohno is already kneel down with his right palm touches the ground. Clumsily, he grabs Nino to quickly run with him from there when Ohno’s black mark suddenly spread down to the ground and follow their track.
“What is that seriously?!”
“We need to help them!”
The other one suddenly speeds up while tries to chase over Sho and Nino speed from the other side. Realizing it, Jun immediately comes to follow him before quickly taps Aiba’s back to follow his abrupt plan.
Farewell guys
The voice was followed by a loud explosion sound right next to roadside that Sho and Nino are running on. However, they just ignore it until they notice few tiny burning cars’ paint fall above him. Immediately, the two of them look up; surprise to see the car that just burn by Ohno before is now right above them.
BAM!
The car hardly hit the ground. Thick smoke comes out from the burning car as soon as the slight shake on the ground stop.
Finally
A wide grin plasters on the Shinigami’s face. Calmly, he steps closer to the burning car for a better looks of his apprentice’s body. He is totally positive with the ‘murderer’ that he just did until he heard cough sounds come from the smoky place.
“Almost…”
The four guys try to regulate their breath by stood up from the ground and leave the burning car as far as they can. Fortunately, Aiba and Jun come to save at the right time or perhaps Sho and Nino might be already being like humpty dumpty.
“Sakurai-san, he’s your real Shinigami.”
“I know.”
“He planned from the earlier to make us separate with each other.”
Sho turns to Aiba in surprise.
“So the bomber’s incident before...?”
I persuade him to do that, if that what are you’re wondering of now
The sight of the Shinigami gradually comes to approach them getting clear as a strong wind suddenly blow the smoke between them. The two sides of the predator and preys however surprise by the sound of someone applauses from the roadway.
Can I join this fun also Akira-san?
Sho’s Shinigami doesn’t look please by it.
Don’t call me like I’m at a same level with you
But you’re actually like us, don’t you?
Jun’s Shinigami suddenly shows up from the other roadside which makes the four humans immediately took few steps back worriedly.
“Hey”
“Yeah, I know. We’re in HUGE trouble now.”
The spectacles Shinigami immediately crosses his arms in front his chest with an annoy face.
I’m not. I’m a pure Shinigami and not become a one because I was lost this game like you guys did long time ago. So, you must call me ‘lord’ like Yamashita
Sound of woman’s chuckles comes across their ears.
You’re so full with yourself. But unfortunately Lord Yamashita is a guardian and not like you. So, wasn’t it will be easier if we cooperate with each other since all these little mice are now impatiently want to replace our place?
However, she only gets a snort as answer.
Let me clear about something. I’ll never cooperate with human Shinigami like you guys and don’t ever try to get over my way. I’m going to kill my apprentice by myself
The old Shinigami just shrugs with the other two sniggers in really piss off.
They’re gone
He calmly said it out. Immediately, the other Shinigami turn to the place that the four human suppose to been before, but only found no trace at there.
I’ll do it by myself
The guy then turns to look at Ohno and snaps his fingers for the sign of his next order. As Ohno blankly took his leave from there, Lord Yamashita just silently stares the guy’s movement from one of the building’s rooftop. None of the Shinigami there realizes his presence nor do his sudden disappear a moment later from there.

Sound of people is trying to catch for their breath fill the abandon clothes shop.
“I feel dizzy again…”
Jun almost falls on his knees, but Nino fortunately manages to catch him. Carefully, he helps Jun to sit on the store’s floor.
“I can’t believe Ohno-san will do that.”
Nino and Jun frown.
“Who?”
“The guy who just tried to burn us before. He was the only survivor of this game until now and if not because of him I think Aiba-san and I will never stay alive until now.”
“I see. That’s not him then.”
Sho immediately look at him.
“The Shinigami has an ability to control living and non-living things.”
“Yep. And we almost die because of it.”
Jun tries to talk between the killing pains he is having. With a sigh and stressful expression, Sho slowly follows them to sit on the floor, followed by Aiba who just can silently watch the other three guys.
“Is he deaf? He didn’t answer anything at all when we found him on the road before.”
“Yes he is. And the reason is this stupid game.”
The other two just nod.
“In case anything might happen again after this, my name is Ninomiya.”
“Matsumoto.”
“I’m Sakurai and this is Aiba-san.”
Aiba turns to Sho confusedly when he suddenly receives a pat on shoulder by the other one. The frown however changes to a surprise one when he saw someone is leaning on the wall of the store.
“Where are you for all this time?! “
He all of sudden stood up; startled the other three guys. As they turn to where Aiba is looking at, they immediately follow him to stand up.
“Why do you let Ohno-san like that?! Aren’t you’re his guardian?!!”
“Like I’ve told you guys before; as long as it won’t give any harm to Ohno-sama, I will not going to do anything.”
“But he’s in danger now!”
“Not yet.”
Sho and Aiba furiously return the guardian’s not guilty look.
“You’re the guy at the hospital before.”
“I feel honour you still remember me.”
“Guardian? Who is he?”
“If the Shinigami does not succeed to kill us in three days, they will become our guardian and protect us from die as long as the causes are THIS game.”
Both Nino and Jun look at the not human creature in disbelieve.
“How to make Ohno-san gains his consciousness again?”
“It’s not that easy. Only if the Shinigami wants to stop control his body or Ohno-sama’s body already on his limit.”
Hearing it, Nino immediately recalled about the poor woman that attacked them last night.
“Why you guys really want to make us suffer before kill us in the most fatal way?”
“Such a good question.”
At the same time, Jun couldn’t bear with his headache any longer. He clumsily tries to grip onto the clothes’ rack nearby before falls on the top of it with a painful hiss. The other three guys immediately move to help Jun to lie down on the floor.
“You guys should more concern about your life and not others.”
“Are you telling us to become selfish?”
Lord Yamashita just chuckles.
“All the human Shinigami are actually aiming to be reborn back as a human. But if they want it to be reality, they must have an apprentice to replace their place. For us who are a pure Shinigami, we just joined this game for fun and no reason at all.”
“But there’s no need to make us suffer right?”
“Well, when the first times act a role as a Shinigami, you’ll still stick with your human’s nature; love, sympathy, sad and so on. But later than, you’ll use with throbbing people life and you’ll become more and more sadist to see the family of the dead one suffering for the loss of their beloved one. After all, while the still living people could enjoy their life happily with their family, friends and lover, why did you need to stay in the darkness just because you lost your life in the game right?”
“...Jealousy.”
“Exactly.”
Sho clenched his hand tightly. At first he thought the pure Shinigami was creepy, but now he knows that perhaps human can be more creepy that that real creature itself when they lost their sanity.
“If this keep continue, I’m sure you guys will die in no time from now. You’re hoping too much on Ohno-sama. Wasn’t this game is actually about your life?”
Aiba frowns by it. Not bother with the questioning face, Lord Yamashita just calmly walk away from them, before stops right in front a wall and turns to them again with a smirk.
“This game will over tomorrow on 8 in the morning.”
“Eh? It’s not that long anymore.”
The guardian just chuckles.
“I wonder if you can survive with the ‘short’ period though.”
The humans frown.
“Good luck.”
In a blink of their eyes, he disappears. The other three guys on the other hand just look at each other’s face before silently sits down on the cold floor with the slowly loss conscious Jun under their worried observation.

Sound of the heavy rain outside finally brings Sho back to reality. As he turns to outside and watch the billion droplets of water wetting the shop’s glass, sound of small whining comes to his ears. Immediately, he turns to the other three guys and realizes that Aiba already had his palm on Nino’s pale face. Probably, the deaf guy already noticed something wrong with the patch eye guy from earlier that lead him to do that with a worried expression. Soon, Aiba turns to look at him.
“I’m afraid...he’s dehydrating.”
He says every word slowly since he barely can hear it. Sho who heard it widens his eyes in shock. He has not so much knowledge about that kind of stuff, but looking by how pale Nino’s face is he knows Aiba was right.
“We need to find for water and foods. I’ll go and take some of it from the convenience store nearby for us and I want you to stay here and take a good care of them.”
As slow as he can, he says it; hoping that the other one will get what he said. However, Aiba immediately shook his head as a protest sign.
“No. I will go. Your wound must be affected...by the attack before. Plus, I just cleaned your wound. So you need to rest.”
“I can’t do that. Besides, I’m more than fine now. If anything happen around you, you’ll late in noticing it Aiba-san. It’ll be so dangerous for you.”
“I promise...I’ll pay a lot of attention around me. Your situation now is worse than mine. If you stay alone your Shinigami will...definitely attack you on the spot, compare to when you’re staying with them.”
Then, Aiba brings his eyes to the already pale Nino’s face and unconscious Jun on the floor. Both guys realize that one of them needs to leave and find for the two basic needs in human life or the other two guys might die because of it. However, going alone also means they’re gambling their life by let the Shinigami to kill them anytime even though there’s no way also they can leave Nino and Jun in that state if the two of them choose to go to the convenience store together.
“Don’t worry. I’ll back as fast as I can.”
Immediately, he stood up. He was about to walk toward the door when Sho suddenly took one of the coats in the shop and passes it to him.
“Be careful.”
Aiba nods. After wear the coat that was offered to him, he quickly storms out from the shop; worried if something bad will be happen to Nino and Jun if he wasting any seconds more. He runs with all his might to the nearest convenience store even though his body already drench by the heavy rains. Few moments later, he finally reached the store and get inside it immediately. Like expected, there’s no one standing behind the counter or even working there.
‘I need to get faster.’
Quickly, he grabs one of the plastic bags on the counter and grabs bottles and isotonic drinks as much as the bag fit from the refrigerator. In the middle of his act however, the light suddenly switch off because of the non-stopping lightening, causing the whole shop falls into an almost pitch dark with only the emergency lamp brightening the store above. Somehow, Aiba can sense that there’s something uneasy bothering him, but he tries to slap the feelings away and swiftly moves to the food rack. He tries his best to shove lunch box, buns and packets of rice ball into the plastic bag hurriedly. Just when he readily to move from his standing spot, a flash of light suddenly comes from outside; showing that someone is standing right in front the convenience door. Panic by it, Aiba immediately crouches down on the floor and hides behind the food rack. He has no idea if the figure already notices his presence there since he unfortunately just notices it now.
‘What should I do...’
Aiba can feel his heart beating rapidly increase when he saw a shadow is approaching his hiding place.
