Disclaimer: I just wrote the plot.
Summary: What you're going to do when you received a message from Shinigami that said you're joining their game? 25 people including Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari and Matsumoto Jun try their best to survive the game for the rest three days or they will lost their lives in the most fatal accident they ever thought. Will they manage to? And why Ohno Satoshi who has nothing to do with it tries to rescue every victims that he found?
Warnings: This story full with blood, murderer and plot that might be unsuitable for you who hate this kind of stuff. For you who ever read my fics before, THIS STORY is different from what I ever wrote.
“Yamashita-san?”
“Yo.”
The guardian calmly exchange glance with Aiba. As he carefully kneels down with Ohno in one of his arms, Aiba immediately moves to take the unconscious guy from him.
Don’t tell me you’re on their side
“I’m not.”
Then why you snap Ohno-sama from under my control?
However, the guardian says nothing but just silently passes Ohno to Aiba. Calmly then he stands up and crosses his arms in front of his chest.
“You put his life in danger, so I must stop him.”
I put his life in danger by kill other apprentice? You must be kidding me
“You forced him to use his mark a lot of times which can cost lot amount of his energy. Besides, you made him moved almost all around this city for your purpose though he was tired enough. So, for the sake of his unstable condition now, I’ve right to bring him out from your control.”
The spectacles Shinigami angrily grit his teeth. Furiously, he turns to Aiba who is now sitting on the ground while wrapping his arms protectively around Ohno.
“And one more thing”
Calmly, Lord Yamashita approaches the Shinigami.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a pure one or from human being. You must follow the rule that you CAN’T kill other Shinigami’s apprentice without his or her permission. If Aiba-san dies because Sir kills him before, I’ve a right to destroy you for using him as your ‘weapon’.”
What?
As he finally stands face to face with Sho’s Shinigami, he curves with a smirk.
“You don’t want me to burn you like the Shinigami you just tricked last night right?”
The Shinigami shocks by his words. For Lord Yamashita, the latter is indeed fool if he thought there’s no one will find out he’s playing dirty before. Finally, the spectacles Shinigami takes few steps aback angrily and disappear into the thin air. Sighting it, Aiba finally manages to gather some guts for speak out.
“I know you did that just for Ohno-san’s sake, but still thank you.”
The guardian immediately turns to him.
“That’s such a nice strategy though I really think you guys must be already out of your mind if you keep ongoing with it.”
“Eh?”
However, the deaf guy’s confusion look only gets a shrug as a reply. He almost opens his mouth for an explanation, but the guardian suddenly walks away with a wave.
“I let Ohno-sama under your care.”
“No! It’s too dangerous for him! He might die because of me!”
The guardian turns around; sending Aiba with another confusion looks when the other one suddenly let a chuckle out.
“He’s immune if you’ve already forget about it. Plus, I won’t let my guard off from him. So there’s no need for you to feel worry cause not only him, but you’re also safe for this mean time as long as you stay with him.”
In a blink of eyes, the guardian lost from Aiba’s sight again. Slowly, Aiba brings his gaze to Ohno in his arms before he realizes the unconscious guy is having a high fever. As the rain still pours heavily above them, he clumsily lifts the other one on his back and finds a shelter in front of the row of abandon shops on the roadside. He almost moves to look for something to warm up Ohno’s shivering body when Jun’s sister comes to approach them.
“Why are you alone? Is he okay?”
However, Aiba doesn’t say anything but tells her to look for Ohno. As he lost into one of the nearby stores, the lady finally remembers that Aiba couldn’t hear what she was saying. She then carefully moves to Ohno’s side and crouches down for a better care before she accidently saw the black fire mark on the unconscious guy’s wrist.
‘Why he’s black? Weren’t Jun and those guys are red and longer than this?’
Bit by bit, she starts to remember about something.
‘Weren’t mom and dad also-’
She startles by the sound of running footsteps. Immediately, she looks up and saw Aiba is approaching them with a blanket. Just when she is readily to get up and takes it from Aiba’s hand, sound of car’s engine suddenly comes to her hearing sense. A vibration from the ground makes Aiba to follow Jun’s sister eyes direction until a black car comes into their sight. As soon as the car stops right beside them, a guy immediately comes out from inside it.
“Jun?”
“Matsumoto-san?”
The other one just returns their surprise look with a relief one.
“Glad you guys still here.”
Immediately, Nino flips close the phone in his hand. As he falls slowly on his knees while tries his best to catch all his breath back, he hears something was falling hardly behind him.
“Sakurai-san!”
He quickly approaches Sho who is now lying weakly on the floor.
“Are you okay?”
A small whine comes from Sho’s mouth. Slowly, blood flows down from his forehead while his left hand moves to his right shoulder’s side. Although Nino was also badly injured by the under control Ohno before, at least his situation is not as worse as Sho.
“Can you move?”
However, Sho just let a small painful hiss out with his left hand grabs tightly the shirt on his right blade. Worried by the guy’s act, Nino gently lifts Sho’s hand away and shock by the flowing blood on the shirt. He swiftly rips Sho’s bloody shirt and startles by the already red gauze bandage that wrapping around the injured guy’s body. Seems, the Shinigami ordered Ohno to purposely attack the old wound before.
“Calm down, Sakurai-san.”
The eye patch guy immediately brings his bruising hands to push Sho’s wound; trying to stop the guy’s blood from keep flowing out. He receives a loud painful scream from the other one, but knowing that he has no other choice; he just forcefully closes his eyes and tries to ignore it.
“It doesn’t stop at all…”
His heartbeat increases by the sight of his bloody palms. As he brings his eyes to Sho again, he saw the red fluid gradually dirtying the floor under Sho’s back. He quickly grabs for Jun’s phone beside him and speed dial to Sho’s phone which is now in Aiba’s hand. Soon, he snorts furiously when he remembers that the other one can’t hear him anyway.”
-“Ninomiya-san?”
Nino abruptly stops middle way from press the red button.
“Matsumoto-san? You’re with Aiba-san?”
-“Yeah. He found both my sis and Ohno-san already.”
“Sakurai-san is badly injured here. Seems his old wound opened again. I can’t stop the blood at all.”
The line falls into a silent for a while. Few seconds later, Jun finally says something.
-“Both of us will go there right away.”
“No. it’ll be more risky if the four of us stay together. Plus, how about your sister and Ohno-san? You guys can’t leave them.”
-“Just leave them to us.”
“I’ve an idea. How about Aiba-san comes here and I’ll also go to there? In case anything happen, at least we still can work on with the plan.”
-“You mean Aiba-san will run to your place first and you’ll come after he reaches there? Aiba-san has Sakurai-san’s phone with him and otherwise. It’s too risky.”
“You and Aiba-san will exchange phones with each other again while Sakurai-san and I also do the same here. Then let both of us leave at the same time but took a different route.”
-“But that’s mean Sakurai-san will stay alone without anyone with him for a while.”
The eye patch guy sighs. Jun is right.
-“Where are you guys now?”
Nino immediately explains the café’s location. After Jun also gives a detail about him and Aiba current place, they encounter another problem.
“We’re too far from each other.”
-“It’ll take time for you and Aiba-san to reach other’s place. Anything can happen to Sakurai-san with that mean time.”
Bitterly, Nino bites his lower lip and brings his gaze to the breathless Sho beside him.
“…We have no choice. Just let Aiba-san to have my phone while you keep Sakurai-san’s phone so our phone won’t ‘meet’ its owner coincidently. And since Aiba-san and I take a different route, both of us won’t bump into each other though we’ve each other’s.”
Again, the line falls into a deep silence with only rain sound from Jun’s side can be heard.
-“Fine. Send me your message when you’re ready to leave.”
Both guys immediately hang up the call. Nino then turns to Sho again and let a very heavy sigh out as he reaches for Aiba’s phone which is little bit out of their reach. Perhaps, Sho will never need to deal with his situation now if he has the phone with him during Sho’s Shinigami sudden presence before. Thankfully, Aiba was unexpectedly sent a message to call for the Shinigami when they almost kill by Ohno though Sho or him never succeed to tell the other one to do so.
“Aiba-san will come here soon, but until that moment you’ll be alone. Please hang on here, okay?”
Carefully, he shoves Jun’s phone into the other injured guy’s hand. As he takes Aiba’s phone and puts it inside his pocket, he takes off his parka and closes Sho’s cold body with it.
“I know it’s hard to do, but if your Shinigami comes here again, try your best to leave a missed call to your phone.”
A small nod from Sho makes him feels a bit better. Quickly, he takes a glance at the café’s wall clock.
‘5 p.m. 15 hours to go.’
As he brings his eyes to Sho again, he slowly gets up from the floor. After he is sure enough the bleeding guy will be fine, he immediately stormed out from there with his fingers type a message for informing the other two guys his leaving.

Both Aiba and Jun carefully lifts Ohno’s burning body to the car’s back seat before Aiba uses the blanket that he took from one of the store there to warm up the fever guy. Indeed that as long as Ohno stays with them they maybe can avoid from got any attack from their Shinigami. However, he also realizes that the still unconscious guy needs a better treatment before his fever getting worse. Besides, the city is too cold for him and the guardian was right when he said that this game is about their life and they’re too relying on Ohno too much.
“Please bring him and my sister far from this place.”
The inspector just nods. A moment later, Aiba finally comes out from the car and closes the door.
“Thanks for pull me out from trapped inside debris before.”
He then smiles to the two younger guys in front him before gets inside the driver seat and closes the door. Meanwhile, Jun’s sister just quietly stands next to the front passenger’s door with her eyes worriedly looks at her dearly brother.
“Don’t worry about me, ne-chan. Everything will be over soon.”
“…Dad and mom also said the same thing before.”
“Eh?”
Weakly, she just shook her head with a bitter smile.
“Please take care of Ohno-san.”
She nods. Soon, she gets inside and the car finally takes it leave under the heavy rain. Aiba and Jun just silently watch the car lost from their sight before the elder one takes Sho’s phone out of his pocket and passes it to Jun. While ago, Nino sent them a message that he was heading to their place using the east road and state that he need Aiba to use the west one to avoid them from meet each other.
“I should leave now.”
He said as he takes Nino’s phone from Jun’s palm. All of sudden, the phone vibrates with a new message ringtone. Both guys read it immediately.

West road was blocked. Aiba-san will use the east one and I’ll use the midway.
Mail received: 5.09 pm
Wednesday, 16 February 20XX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“Blocked?”
Jun frowns by the message. Aiba on the other hand just nods by it and almost quickly leaves the place. However, Jun immediately grabs his shoulder.
“Wait a sec.”
The younger guy brings his eyes again to the phone’s screen. As he seriously looks up at Aiba again, he immediately flips Sho’s phone open.
“I’ve an idea.”
Minutes pass and Nino is still in the middle of his running to reach for Jun’s current place. The raindrops are now mixing with his sweat and there is lot of times already he almost falls on the slippery road, but it still doesn’t stop him. He realizes that the four of them need to help each other if they want to survive the game and he knows that Aiba and Jun also think the same thing. Soon, he finally saw the junction to turn to the east road. Just before he reaches the middle of it however, he heard a familiar voice from the roadside.
If you guys didn’t use phone call before maybe we’re still deceiving by you guys
Abruptly, the eye patch guy stops. He looks surprise by the unexpected existences of his Shinigami there follow by Aiba’s Shinigami sudden presence beside the old man.
You did such a nice job for sent the fake message to my apprentice and Matsumoto Jun-san
At the same time, Nino can hear sound of running footsteps is approaching the road.
Unfortunately Ninomiya Kazunari-san, I just sent a message to your friends to tell Aiba Masaki-san that he need to use this road since the west one was blocked. He thought you’re using the midway one. And since you’re having Aiba-san’s phone and otherwise, you can’t play on us anymore
Finally, they saw a figure of guy is approaching the place. Sighting it, Nino immediately lets a cynical chuckle out and speed dial to a certain number with the phone in his hold.
“Unfortunately, it won’t work you guys.”
What?
Nino just smiles while waiting for the other one to approach him. As soon as the two Shinigami realize who is running closer to the other one, they frown in surprise.
“You’re doing great, Matsumoto-san.”
Jun just gives a tired smile while tries to catch up all his losing breath when he finally stand face to face with Nino.
Just if we have Ren with us, we can take Matsumoto Jun-san live too!
But at least I still can take your soul, Ninomiya Ka-
The Shinigami startles by a sudden call for him. With a huge satisfied smile, Nino turns to his Shinigami immediately.
“Someone is calling for you right? Cause your phone is not with any the two of us.”
How come? What is happening?
“If you thought we’re fool enough to fall into your trap, you’re wrong.”
And for the first time, Nino saw his Shinigami’s face change to an angry one before suddenly disappear from there. Aiba’s Shinigami on the other hand just grits her teeth tiredly before follows the old Shinigami’s act as she realizes that she can’t do anything with the two humans anymore.
“I’m glad you received our message right before you went far from the café.”
“It was by chance. Thanks to your idea too, we didn’t fall to their trap or Aiba-san and I already death now.”
A minute after he left Sho in the café before, he suddenly got a message from Jun that they need to change a little bit with what they had plan earlier. The route that he and Aiba will take is still same and didn’t effect by the fake message that Jun got before. However, in order to avoid Aiba from bump into his Shinigami, Jun will follow the fake message to waste the Shinigami’s time for a while.
“Now, we only can wait.”
‘Finally.’
Abruptly, Aiba stops in front of the café that Jun mentioned to him before while panting heavily. He then quickly takes Nino’s phone out from his pocket when he feels a hard vibration from it with his left hand still holds tightly a plastic bag of equipments that he just grabbed from a pharmacy he found before. After sent a message to Nino’s Shinigami, he swiftly wants to enter the cafe, but stops by a sudden taps on his shoulder. Immediately, he turns around.
Gotcha’
‘I hope…they’re doing fine.’
As slow as he can, Sho tries to move and leans his back on the wall behind. The act makes him let few small whines but he finally succeeds and shifts a little for a comfortable position. While tries his best to bear with the pain and breathe properly, he notices there’s a movement outside of the café.
‘Is it Aiba-san?’
Painfully, he flips open the phone in his hold as a precaution. Fortunately the face that shows up from the door is the one who he is waiting to come.
“…I’m sorry for troubling you to come here.”
He flips off the phone back and tries to sit with his back still on the wall behind. Aiba on the other hand just approaches him silently from the door. As the numerous coffee tables and chairs block Sho’s sight, Sho couldn’t see if Aiba brings something with him. Unexpectedly, another person enters the café that makes Sho’s eyes grow wider in surprise.
He’s the one who suppose to save you, but I make him to be the one who murder you instead
“You…possessed Aiba-san.”
His Shingami just smirk. Few steps before Aiba reaches him, Sho finally saw what the guy is holding in his hand.
What do you feel to be stabbed by a same sword in two days row?
The bleeding guy immediately flips open his phone. He tries to fight against his dizziness because of too much losing blood, but unfortunately his bloody hand makes his fingers become slippery and accidently press the wrong button. Though, he receives no mercy from the Shinigami when the unconscious Aiba swings his blade to Sho’s neck.
