Disclaimer: Plot 65% from me, 35% based on the real drama. The characters are not mine!
Summary: Based on Ryusei no Kizuna drama with slight change. 5 brothers sneaked out from their house to watch meteor shower but only found their parents were brutally murdered after returned home. 14 years later, the police unfortunately still could not find the culprit behind their parents death. The brothers meanwhile already become grown-up men and move to Tokyo, but still close with each other. They fill their days with laugh and funny quarrel despite of the deep grudge they hold toward their parents' murderer for the whole past years.
A/N: Their surname is Ariake.
1 year later.
It is like a weekly job for Satoshi and Jun to go to fresh market together and do groceries every Monday. Today however the youngest brother could not come along since he needs to stay in café and start to prepare ingredients for cooking, so Satoshi has no choice but to buy all stuffs by himself.
“So heavy…”
The Aniki mumbles while swaying to right and left, following the motion of numbers of plastic bags in his hands. Despite of the pile up things in his hands, he somehow still makes it into café which was used to be George’s a year ago.
“I’m back.”
“Welcome back.”
Satoshi sigh in relief as soon as he stops behind the glass door entrance. As he continues to drag those heavy plastics bags into the kitchen, he stunned by the sight of Sho is cutting a cucumber on the café’s counter.
“Sho…What are you doing?”
Sho look at him before focus on the green thing under him again.
“Cutting. What else you think I’m doing?”
The older one just nods dumbly when Sho start to chuckle by his question. As he moves to refrigerator, Jun suddenly comes out from the back side to see how well his second eldest brother is doing. Soon, he pull Sho’s left arm away and dumbstruck by the other one job.
“You should cut it into same thickness! We can’t use this to serve anything!”
“Eh? But what’s wrong with this? It’s edible though.”
“It IS edible but we need to serve the customers’ order in perfect arrangement!”
“But it’ll be same when it already inside our stomach, thick or not!”
Jun face palmed.
“You know this kind of thing might happen Jun. You shouldn’t get angry since you let him do it.”
“Am not. Sho-nii is the one who so persistent want to cut this. But yeah, you’re right Aniki. I shouldn’t let him do this.”
Immediately, he takes the knife from Sho’s grip. Sho however quickly grabs it back from the younger brother’s hand.
“I’m not finish yet. I promise I’ll pay attention with the thickness after this.”
“It’s fine. Just do the accounting stuff or finish the paper work you bring from your office.”
“I’ve done all of it! Let me do something here as well!”
Jun however does not listen to him and both guys then start to fight with each other. This year Jun is finally in his final year at college, but at the same time can be stated as Satoshi’s assistant since he always come to help at the café despite of his busyness to settle his last project. Although he has an important role and maybe will work with Satoshi and Kazu after he graduated, he never stops from creating new idea as his brothers also tell him to not stop. They even do not mind if one day Jun wants to work for designing company. Sho on the other hand still work as an economist. Few months ago he was promoted by his supervisors and now he has his own office and private space for working. Although he has piling up of job at his workplace, he still volunteers himself to manage their café’s account and sometimes act as the manager when interviewers from food magazine want come to and write about the famous dish that they serve there. Up till now he is still the one pay for the water and electric bills for the apartment that he live with Satoshi and Jun.
While his two younger brothers shouting each other at the front, Satoshi meanwhile still peacefully arrange the things he just bought into the café’s refrigerator. Few minutes later, he walks into the staff room to wear his apron and comes out exactly at the same time when Kazu enter the place.
“Morning!”
“Morning!”
They playfully give a soldier’s salute to each other. Kazu then about to change his clothes when he caught the scene of Sho and Jun are arguing behind the café’s counter.
“You guys seem in a good state.”
“Seriously Kazu. If that’s what you’re seeing now, you better go and see the eyes specialist.”
The fourth brother burst out laugh while disappearing into the staff’s room behind. He already stops from working at George’s renting video shop and now is a fulltime worker at the café for taking the order and serving the customers. What is the unexpected is Kazu is now a law student. Even his brothers also surprised when Kazu suddenly announced months ago that he already passed a university entrance exam without telling them anything. His reason is still remain unknown from the other but they somehow sure he maybe was influenced by their parents’ case.
“Kazu! Take Sho-nii’s position now!”
“But-!”
“I’m coming~”
The door of the staff’s room suddenly slams open with Kazu already in his apron. He almost moves to snatch the knife from the second brother’s hand when Masaki suddenly stormed into the cafe. The third brother clumsy action make the rest frown especially when he is panting hardly like he just had been chased by mad dogs before he reach there.
“Hey, Masa. What’s wrong?”
Jun immediately approach him and stroke his back; trying to calm down the guy. Soon, Masaki suddenly grab his shoulders with a very wide grin.
“I’m going to be a father!”
Dumbstruck, the rest open their eyes bigger.
“What did you say?”
“I’m going to be a father! She’s pregnant!”
The café falls into silence for a while.
“W-Whose kid?”
“Mine-hey! How could you to ask such a question?!”
“For serious? You already take her to see the doctor?”
“Yep! Positive!”
He chirps happily. Kazu and Jun however still lock their stare on him, unsure.
“But for you to be a parent…”
Both younger brothers slowly turn to each other.
“It must be hard for sister-in-law to take care of two babies after this.”
“OI! That’s all you guys want to say?!”
They laugh before Jun finally give him a hug with congratulate wish. Satoshi, Sho and Kazu later also do the same thing before continue to do their job again with Sho almost succeeds to grab for the knife on the cutting board if Kazu does not move faster even for a second.
4 months ago Masaki finally got married with his girlfriend in only a small and private weeding. Back then Sho and Kazu always complain why he is the first one who gets the husband title even though he is the most babyish among them, but finally give up when they see how serious and already prepared the other one is with his new responsibility. Masaki now is still working at the clay pot factory, but whenever he had free time he will definitely come to the café and help as much as he can.
Later, the third brother runs to Satoshi who is stirring his and Jun’s new version of Ariake’s Hayashi rice with his mind already calculating niece/nephew + him = Uncle Satoshi?
“Aniki! Come and buy the baby’s stuffs with me tomorrow!”
“It’s still too early. I bet you even didn’t know if it’s a girl or boy right?”
“Yep! But I’m so excited!”
“How many months?”
“3!”
“Eh?”
Sho fall into shocked state. Seeing the older brother does not want to move from blocking his way, Kazu snort.
“Excuse me, but can someone please take Sho-nii from here? He’s in my way.”
He nudges the arm of the freezing guy beside him which later makes Jun to approach Sho and pat the older one sloping shoulder.
“You shouldn’t be surprised, Sho-nii. It’s normal if married couple will have a baby.”
“That’s not the problem. I just shocked cause’ they only married 4 months ago and the baby now already 3 months!”
“For your information Sho-nii, a brain level like you is not requiring to make a baby. Plus, Masa is expert with this stuff.”
Satoshi and Masaki giggle by it.
“Yeah. Not like someone who will always be single and available.”
Kazu immediately give Jun an agreeing high five. However, the partner in crime frowns when Sho suddenly snickers beside them. Later, they realize that it will only mean one thing.
“Don’t tell me Sho-nii…?”
Sho’s face all of sudden dazzle with happiness. As soon as he shoves his phone out from his jeans, he smugly shows the screen to his brothers.
“Second date tonight.”
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH???????????”
Kazu snatch the phone from Sho’s grip swiftly as Masaki and Jun run to the fourth brother’s side with disbelief faces. Masaki then give him a thumb up with encouraging smile which later answer by the same act from Sho. After the third brother disappears to change his cloth, Sho turn to his two younger brothers who are still reading his message beside him. Later, Satoshi suddenly pat his shoulder while walking behind him to take a plate that had been place behind the counter.
“You better change your date’s place, Sho.”
“Eh? Why?”
He looks at the other one confusedly when Satoshi just chuckle before move to the back side again. Not long after, he finally gets what it does mean and clumsily turn to the already smirking Kazu and Jun.
“Don’t you guys dare to come. I need to wait for 2 weeks to save that table.”
“But we’re curious to see her. Who knows if she sees Jun later, she’ll hook to him.”
“Older woman is not that bad.”
“OI! She’s not old! And you, Kazu! Just take care of your girl!”
“It’s better then. So she’s younger or at the same age with me?”
Sho return their evil smile with a death glare. The fight however stops when a man and a lady enter the cafe before one of the two hops happily to see Satoshi at the back side excitedly. At the same time, Masaki finally comes out from the staff’s room while tying his apron.
“You guys look energetic today.”
“Oh! Long time no see George-san.”
The former café’s owner grins and takes a seat behind the counter.
“What’s up?”
“Jun and I are planning to join Sho-nii’s date tonight.”
“Eh?”
“I never invite you guys!”
They then startle by a loud cry from the back side. Later, they surprise to see Sagi is gripping on Satoshi’s shirt and being drag as well when the other one just ignore him and keep on doing his job. The sight of course make Jun happy and mock the only lady there as sadist as he want. Soon, the cafe noise with the two forever enemy voices and shouts till people who walk outside the place walking in front it while frowning.
Almost a year ago Satoshi decided to buy the café when George said he wanted to give a try in a new kind of business with his wife. At first the real owner wanted to give him the café as a gift since he also has various kind of business and money is not his main problem, but Satoshi refused it politely as he also had more than enough money from the sold of their parents’ restaurant after the police returned the place back to them. Maybe their parents’ Hayashi restaurant holds a lot of memory of their mom and dad, but if it will make him and his brothers more sad by staying there with the still bad treat from the residents, he prefer to let it go. Their father’s wish however is not going to disappear along with the restaurant.
They will make it true one day for sure.

#I did it! I finish this story before the end of Ramdhan *bounce happily* It's fun to write them as brothers.But actually one of the side reasons why I made Masaki and Kazu to live in different house cause it'll be terrific if the 5 of them live under a same roof.Their house will be more like a kindergarten than a grow up men house XP
