CHAPTER 1: STUDY!
“Sho-chan, Sho-chan, here!”
Aiba excitedly called for Sakurai while waved his right hand as soon as the latter enter the canteen where he, Ninomiya and Matsumoto at. Noticed it, Sakurai walked toward his friends immediately and sat beside Ninomiya.
“Sorry for being late guys.”
“Eh? Where’s leader”
“Our homeroom teacher ordered him to follow him to the teacher’s room when we're on our way to come here.”
“Why? He would join another drawing competition?”
“That’s amazing! He already participated 3 competitions only in this month!”
“Will be four after this one I guess.”
“We should celebrate this then.”
Seeing his friends started to discuss excitedly about how they should celebrate the good news, Sho only can sighed. After a while he finally cut them off.
“Well, sorry to disappoint you guys but this isn’t about any drawing competition.”
Aiba, Ninomiya and Matsumoto abruptly stopped. Imediatelly, they turned to him.
“Eh?”
“This is about his last year exam result”
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“Have a sit Ohno-kun”
Ohno just followed the teacher’s order while his eyes wandering on every inch of the teacher’s room.
“I want to discuss about your last year result”
Ohno still not say anything.
“All the sensei keeps complaining about your result...Well, except the art sensei, so I hope you can pay more attention during the classes.”
“I will sensei.”
This time, the homeroom teacher couldn't help but sighed.
“But Ohno-kun, you gave me exactly the same answer before.”
“But sensei, I-“
“Listen to me Ohno-kun.”
“I am sensei.”
“You can’t achieve your dream if your result still doesn’t show any improvement”
“But sensei, my dream is to own a bread shop. So, it’s doesn’t matter if I only get an excellent result in my culinary subject right?”
The teacher fell into silent for a while.
“...Alright,alright. Now I remember the culinary sensei never complained about your mark as well. But have you think about your mother's feelings? She must be sad if she know about your result.”
“Nope. My mother always tells me that she’ll always believe in whatever path I take. And she always remind me that I shouldn’t force myself to do something that I’m not interested with.”
“Then, consider about your father’s feeling. Of course he wants to see you get a very good result in your study right?
“But, my father always tells me that no matter what happen, I’m still his son.”
“How about your friends?”
“They said, they’ll always support me no matter what cause the most important is, I must be honest with myself.”
“Ohno-kun, if you keep thinking this way people will look down on you.”
“We wouldn’t die by the others judge about us, so, I think-“
“Alright, alright. Enough about it. Your way of thinking is TOO unique and seems even I can't do anything about it. Anyway, by hook or by crook you must at least pass all subjects for your next week exam or...”
“Or?”
“Or you will return to 2nd year again this year.”
“EEEEEHHHHHH????!!!!”
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“I’ve told you before! Don’t sleep during the classes!”
“I’m not!”
“You're surveying whatever fishing rod catalogues during class again, right?”
“No! ...Um...well, sometimes, but I was still listening the lesson!”
“That’s useless if you're listening but don't understand at all.”
“But your test is too soon, right? School only started two weeks ago.”
"Well, our teacher want to see how much we understand about previous subjects till this far."
“So all the questions will come from which topics?”
“1st and 2nd year topics.”
“Wait. The questions for you guys last year exam was also from 1st and 2nd year topics, weren't it?"
Sho nodded.
“Then if Ohno-kun failed almost the entire papers...that means this time as well he will stand no chance at all."
“Anyway, could you please explain to us how come you can fail in all subjects last year?”
“Not all! ALMOST all!”
“There’s no different, isn’t it?”
Just on time, the bell rang. Sakurai became the first one to get up before the five of them started to fix their clothes for next classes.
“Let's discuss about this again after the class. We should return to our class now.”
The other four just nodded. Yet before they took different ways to go back to their classes, Aiba, Ninomiya and Matsumoto still managed to look at Ohno, smirking.
“Leader, don’t forget to focus during the classes.”
“Or the three of us are going to see you again next year.”
“I’m looking forward to see you to be one of my classmates~”
“OOOIIII!!!”
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
After the classes all the boys gather again and continue their discussion in the JS cafe near their school.
“Listen guys, I have an idea.”
“No, no. That’s impossible.”
“Oi! I haven’t say anything yet!”
“What’s your idea Aiba-kun?”
“We will study together every day after school and bring Ohno-kun to our home by turn to make sure he’s studying at night.”
“That’s great!”
“What do you think Ohno-kun?”
“I think that’s great. But, I’m worried about something...Well, you guys knew that I have zero interest in study so..."
“You’re worried if you can't focus right?”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t worry about it! We still have 5 days remaining. Leave it to us.”

The 1st night = Sakurai’s room
“Oi, oi, wake up Ohno-kun! You can’t pass the exam with sleeping!”
“But, I’m so~sleepy.”
“You already sleep during today classes, right? Don't tell me you're still not enough with it?”
“I'm not. Just daydreaming.”
“Don’t say that with a proud smug!”
Yet for the entire night, Ohno fell to deep slumber for every 15 minutes. It Sakurai took almost 5 minutes to wake him up for each time.

The 2nd night = on the way to Matsumoto’s house
“Jun-kun, why did you buy so much energy drinks?”
“Sho-san told me this morning that you’d fall asleep for every 15 minutes last night. So with these I will make sure you can't even close your eyelids tonight”
“But...there’s no need to buy a box of it right?”
“Well, I’ll give this to Aiba and Nino too.”
“You mean-?“
“Until the exam day, you CAN’T sleep.”
“Uwa~ I really hate this.”
Unfortunately the energy drinks seem not gave any affect to Ohno at all. He still can slept peacefully and almost made Matsumoto went mad for the entire night.

The 3rd night = in Aiba’s house
“It must be fun to live alone in Tokyo, right?”
“Yup! But sometimes I still feel a bit lonely too.”
“How about we just hold conversation till tomorrow's morning?”
“No! You MUST study!”
“But I did my best to keep my focus during the classes, last two nights and every time we studied together. I really want to rest only for this time...”
“No you can’t! Or you want to go back to 2nd year again?”
“Alright, I know-I know.”
Despite of his own words, Aiba however can't keep his mouth shut and finally started to talk with Ohno for the whole night.

The 4th night = in Ninomiya’s room
“Wow~cool! Manga, manga, games, manga, games, games and games!”
“Yup.”
“Can we play this game?”
“Not we, only me. You must study.”
“Eh? You won’t help me study?”
“The most important point is to make sure you’re studying, so as long as that happen I can do anything I want”
After 5 minutes doing some revision, Ohno started to draw something on his textbook. Ninomiya however only find it out after he felt strange why Ohno can keep his eyes on the textbook for more than hours.

The 5th night = in Ohno’s room
“Tomorrow will be English paper. Yosh! Let’s study!”
Knock! Knock!
“Satoshi, your new rod catalogue just arrived this morning.”
“Hai~ Thank you ka-chan.”
Ohno hurriedly went to the door and opened it. Then, he sat at his study desk back, puting the catalogue next to his textbook with pair of determine eyes.
“Wait for me tsuri-zao(fishing rod)-san! Let me finish my study first!”
Yet, it took less than hour before he started to flip the catalogue. His textbook all forgotten until he prepared for bed.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Two weeks later, the five best friends gathered in JS cafe again.
“Look guys, I pass all the papers!”
“That’s great!”
“So, sensei said anything about it?”
Ohno nodded.
“I told him about you guys and he said I have very good friends.”
“Well, I think he was over complimenting us. But that's still a fact though.”
The other four exploded with laugh by Ninomiya's remark. After the cafe waitress finally came with their order, Matsumoto looked at Ohno smilingly.
“So did you learn something after what was happened, Ohno-kun?”
“Of course you learnt something right, Oh-chan ? Don’t ever do something unnecessary during classes anymore!”
“Well, I do learn something but not that, Aiba-chan.”
A wide smile showed on his face. Felt interested, Sakurai, Aiba, Ninomiya and Matsumoto leaned forward immediately.
“What was it?”
“That you guys will always be by my side and help me no matter what. So, there's no need for me to worry anymore about test or exam cause you guys will definitely help me right?”
(...)
“I don’t know to feel happy or worry now.”
